The Hillary Calculus (or How Mrs. Clinton Comes by her Stories)
April 24th, 2008 — LiamHow does she do it?
- “I’m very proud that as of today, I have received more votes by the people who have voted than anyone else,” Clinton said Wednesday, one day after her decisive [???] win in Pennsylvania.”
- “Not so fast, says Obama’s campaign. Clinton’s count includes her wins in Michigan and Florida, but the Democratic presidential candidates agreed not to campaign in those states because they violated party rules by scheduling their contests too early.”
Just a day after the (fifth) make-or-break event of her (bitter) campaign, she’s suddenly the winner. And has been for months! How does she do it?
She does it through focus. Sheer force of will. Here’s how it works:
- She focuses tight and hard on one isolated detail, taken out of the context of a complex reality facing her.
- She then squints and squints until the only thing that she can see, in blurry outline, is that isolated detail.
- She then concludes that the detail is the entire story. The detail becomes her entire internal narrative for anything relating to the story.
- She then walks into the world, stating her “true story” loudly and boldly, (and is confused, and battered, and “victimized by the all-boy’s media” when the rest of the world seems to shrink and cringe from her shrill delivery of a half-truth).
We used to call it “delusion” and “denial.”
In the case of the ongoing campaign, Mrs. Clinton declares that she is the winner of the popular vote, (at this point, and presumably, for good). She does this despite the overarching reality, (which she ought to know well), that she and her opponent did not campaign in the states from which she’s drawing her presumed victory.
In the case of the Bosnia sniper incident (that wasn’t), it is likely that Mrs. Clinton was told that there were, or might be, or could be, or at one time had been snipers at (or near or not near or in the vicinity or not in the vicinity), of the airstrip where she was landing.
You do the Hillary Calculus, and end up with “I was a hero in a war zone!”
Mrs. Clinton is always willing to ignore all experience and real-world evidence, in order to support a suggestion or fable that serves to create, in her mind, a more attractive image of herself.
How would Hillary Calculus affect the United States of America, if she were allowed to be its Ceo?

FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN SAGA!!!!
AND THIS PERSON WANTS TO BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT?
A lot of rational people are sick of hearing about Florida and Michigan Democratic Primaries and how HRC won those states and want to count delegates and popular votes from these states.
Nobody seems to remember the fundamental norms of any civilized society we live, in the USA and the rest of the world. From child hood and up we are taught a few fundamental principles on how fit in a civilized society. These are few simple, but extremely important, rules. As babies we are given several instructions, like, NOT to do few things that might be destructive to the surroundings or to ourselves. At schools, from KG and up, we are given written and verbal instructions on a lot of things that we should follow to fit in the schools surroundings. Again, at work we get a set of new guidelines to fit in the company or work place. At all levels of our government bodies there are numerous guidelines on how to live within our society and country. Above all, we are reminded of our Constitution, which include Rights and Obligations.
Violations on any of the above have repercussions, from childhood and up, from being grounded to locked up in jails, and capital punishment.
Now, to the FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN SAGA
As we hear from numerous sources, including the Chief of the Democratic Party, Rules and Guidelines were drawn up and every parties involved (here the Democratic Party Presidential Candidates and their Surrogates) have agreed to abide by these rules, which were: NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FLORIDA AND MICHIGAN PRIMARIES, AND ABOVE ALL, NOT TO COUNT THESE STATES FOR PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION PURPOSES DUE TO THEIR VIOLATIONS OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY RULES.
Now one person, HRC, and surrogates of HRC, insist on violating these rules. When rules are violated civilized nations and societies impose punishments, including jail terms and capital punishments; but do not understand why there is not even a talk of any punishment for these serious attempts of violations.
More importantly, the President of our country should be the very first person to uphold our constitution, and for that matter any contractual obligations, with other partners within our country, and with foreign countries. Ironically, the very fundamentals of our civilized nation have been challenged every day by HRC and surrogates. Given the pattern of cheap shots and lies from the HRC campaign, this is not surprising at all. There is absolutely no dignity left for HRC and surrogates; it is not surprising either when I remember how HRC’s husband caused humiliation to the Whitehouse.
AND THIS PERSON WANTS TO BE OUR PRESIDENT?

So, THAT’s how she does it! Thanks for the enlightenment.

I think that when Hillary opens her mouth . She lies. I think she would embarass the USA> She is a red neck candidate. Lie and do anything that suits you and ignore what anyone else thinks. She is in essence exactly like George Bush and his buddies. She and her campaign ignore truths and make their own. She would be a horrible candidate.

DO NOT TARNISH THE SAGA OF THE GREAT WOMEN LEADERS OF THE WORLD
We hear a lot about how our country is primed to have a Woman President. I am afraid that by comparing HRC to follow the great Women Leaders of the bygone centuries, the immediate past and the present, we will be causing great injustices to the greatness of those Women Leaders. All we need is just to compare the saga of these great Women Leaders to the SILLINESS AND LACK OF CHARACTER OF HRC. By making a pathological liar as out first Woman President we will be tarnishing the heritage of this great nation for ever. If we value CHARACTER as the most important of all qualities, how can we let HRC be our President, because during this campaign HRC has demonstrated multiple times she has none of that what matters.
Here are just a few of those leaders:
Cleo Patra
Helen of Troy
Queen Victoria of Great Britain
Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain
Golda Meir of Israel
Indira Gandhi of India
Margaret Thatcher of Great Britain
Sirimavo Bandaranaike – of Sri Lanka
Elisabeth Domitien Central African Republic
Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo of Portugal
Gro Harlem Brundtland of Norway
Milka Planinc - Yugoslavia
…….

The myth of Popular Vote
All the past leaders in the world that history had branded as either evil or tyrant had plenty of popular support!

Absolutely hilarious! And True! How dare her campaign advisers allow her to go public with that crap. Im not outraged, but embarassed. Can we have someone look over her statement 12 times before allowing her to go public….wow!
April 24th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
I’m puzzled. Why would anyone include the results from Michigan when Clinton was the only major name on the ballot and not include Washington that had both Clinton and Obama. Neither state counts towards the delegates, but Obama won Washington by contest and Clinton won Michigan by default. Not logical.
April 24th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
The media is what keeps Hillary’s campaign alive. It’s no conspiracy. It’s simply the media playing dumb, ignoring the numbers so that they can sell an “exciting” story. Clinton’s claim is like a basketball team claiming home court advantage in the playoffs because they scored more baskets, even though they won fewer games. Oh, and you have to include the pre-season exhibition games as well.
April 24th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
She is so disgusting! HRC actually believes that she has won the popular vote with Mich and Fla. I believe she is being coached by her husband who I have lost all respect for. “I didn’t inhale” referring to the marihuana incident in his college years, and “I did not have sex with that lady” which we all remember.
Perhaps there is an elite Clinton universe that we normal people have no insight to. If you say it, it is true…..hmmmm!

April 24th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
As a Michigan voter I am awfully tired of hearing Clinton say she won my state. The reality is that voters were given many contradictory instructions regarding how they should handle the primary vote here. Many people told me they just didn’t vote because they knew their vote would not count. And of the people who did vote, they did not have the option to vote for Obama. Would I like my vote to count? Yes. Do I want it to be counted in a fair election? Absolutely. I will be outraged if Clinton gets the Michigan delegates based on the primary that happened here.
April 24th, 2008 at 3:08 pm
Dawn,
That’s the story. You ought to call ABC news, and tell ‘em so. “I’m a Michigan voter - we did not ‘elect’ Mrs. Clinton as nominee.” Make a ruckus.
Somebody else said it before me, but, We are now witnessing the victim of the “vast Right-wing conspiracy,” perpetrating a massive “Left-wing” conspiracy. (in quotes, b/c Rod-ham is no liberal, no dem, no repub, and no libertarian … she’s in her own party).
Call your local affiliate of your CBS or ABC news, and get a desk reporter on the phone. Tell them you want to go on camera disputing Mrs. Clinton’s claim, based on what you wrote above.
If it is so, if it’s like this, that people didn’t vote b/c they knew it wouldn’t count, and they had no outlet to vote for O’barry, then put it out there.
Christ, that Rodham Clinton…She really is a scandal, isn’t she?
April 24th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Wonder how long till Chelsea continues the family tradition of lying? Haven’t we had enough of lying dynasties? If women would stop voting for Hillary just because she’s a woman (at least, supposedly a woman), maybe we wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place. And yes, I am a nearly 40 year old woman saying this!
Again, I ask - why has NO ONE brought up Whitewater???????
And if her math is this bad how, exactly, will she fix the economy?
April 24th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
That’s the question - how butch does a woman have to be to get elected (or selected) pres? (or nominee)?
“Iran - We’ll Obliterate You!” She said, when asked a hypothetical policy question about Israel. “Obliterate.”
What is she, Peter Sellers?
There are these terrible dualities and dichotomies in our America. Hilly thinks that what people need to be reassured of, after 8 years of the Georgie and Cheney show, is that she’s ‘man enough’ to wage perpetual war -
badly planned, poorly thought-out, short-sighted, ground war, or.. what was she insinuating? Nuclear war?
How butch is butch enough, in Hilly’s mind, to make us forget that she’s a woman?
How much better might it have been, if she had come out and said, “We’ll talk to everybody. We’ll keep all lines of communication open. There’s a lot we don’t know about the world, that we are now learning about the world.
There may be people that we have to fight, and if that’s the case, then we will fight them - but we won’t take war lightly - and we don’t invade countries that don’t attack us.”
How much better. And that is, I believe, what Barry O. said, more or less. And I’d bet John McCain is even on that page.
So, how butch does Hilly have to get before she convinces herself (that we believe) she’s the right ‘man’ for the job?
I honestly do believe that she’s over-the-rainbow nuts, myself. But it seems to be working for some of the neo-libs and Clintonistas in the party.
And Chelsea has already started lying. She told a reporter that her father and mother’s behavior and public relationship was ‘none of their business,’ or some such thing, while she shucked and jived for them.
If you’re going to play for mom and dad, be ready to field the ball.
April 24th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
I feel so bad for Obama because he is being destroyed by all the media outlets and Hillary Clinton, a sadistic liar who can’t even run her own campaign and who will do anything to be the Democratic nominee. She completely and effectively bamboozled fearful Pennsylvanians by pretending she was one of them. They bought her garbage hook, line and sinker. Here’s the truth that the media won’t tell you and that is that half of those people who voted for Hillary would have never voted for Obama nor any black man/woman anyway and Hillary knew it.
The media is constantly harping about Obama not being able to get white working class votes. He wasn’t going to get their votes no matter what he did to try and appeal to them. The statistics from the PA primary tell it all. She has done everything in her power to destroy Obama’s message of hope and change with her kitchen sink tactics and by playing the race card. Now, according to her, she is ahead in the popular vote! She is totally delusional and CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, CBS, ABC seem to be cheering her on. Disgusting. Totally disgusting.

Hillary Clinton
Irrational and Unfair
Is America ready for a woman president? Yes. Is America ready for Hillary Clinton as a woman president? No. Why? Because she has shown herself to be irrational and unfair!
All you non-believers, think to yourself a moment, if Hillary Clinton were a rational woman would she still be in the race?
Look at all the men who dropped out of the race immediately because they were rational enough to know that they could not mathematically win the race. I know your rebuttal (Hillary Supporters) Obama can’t reach the magic number either and my answer is: he is still in the lead and it is unfair of Hillary to ask the superdelegates to hand her the election when she is not in the lead and will not be in the lead at the end of this race!
It is unfair to continue in an unwinnable race while simultaneously bashing the democratic nominee. It is irrational for her to count the votes, in Michigan and Florida, as her win when she agreed they wouldn’t count. It is unfair to single-handedly divide the Democratic Party. It is irrational to waste valuable time and resources that could be better spent campaigning against McCain. It is unfair to ask the American people, struggling to make ends meet, to donate to a dead campaign.
I ask the American people, to whom this blog is for because you can not speak rationally to an irrational person, is she the type of woman you want in the highest post and in the hardest job in America? I think not! We need a man or woman that is rational and fair because without those qualities, 35 years of experience will get us know where!
Finally, to the media, Keith Olbermann, this topic should be number one on your countdown. Stephen Colbert, make irrational and unfair words of the day. Anderson Cooper, discuss this with your expert panelists. Bill O’reilly, invite a psychiatrist to your show instead of the person analyzing body movements. Media it is your duty to spread the word, so that Americans can make a rational and fair decision when they go to the polls!

Hi Stella,
Don’t feel too bad for him because the media is having at him a little. The media’s given him a sweetheart deal, for the most part. But the country is more than one ideology - I mean, the Dems are so divided that they can’t pick a nominee.
It’s good to know who everybody is, deep down, and that’s what these shocks are good for. I think we’ve discovered, deep down, that Hilly-pants is a big, fat liar - like her husband often was - but that she’s less convivial, convincing, populist, natural, humanistic… and all the other warm and fuzzy things that appeal to most libs/lefties.
She’s clearly ‘in it to win it,’ as she says, come hell or high water, and necessitating any strategy or ploy to make it so.
What you seem to be reflecting, though, and I think there’s something to this, is that there are people who just aren’t ready to vote for a semi-Black man. I think that’s true. It’s not everybody, and it’s not everyone who isn’t for Obama. But I think it’s there. I know that idea is rejected by people who don’t like Obama, but it’s naive to imagine it isn’t real.
There are plenty of people who wouldn’t vote for McCain because he’s quite aged - and we remember Reagan in his second term, when Nancy and the astrologers ran the country. (No, not really. It was Don Regan, for a little while, at least).
There are some people who wouldn’t vote for Hillypants b/c she resembles a woman (Now, that’s not very nice, is it?)
Actually, it brings to mind so many questions and ideas, that I’m sure the grad schools are now full of PhD candidates writing dissertations on “Race, Gender and Presidency in America.”
Pay your 140,000 dollars, and get your “Dr.” degree here.
But ethnicity isn’t his only problem when it comes to the power elite. They don’t know if they can trust him to do what they say - and what they say is, in my opinion, a reflection of the American id - those things that we don’t admit openly, but which drive much of the populace, and us, often enough:
* ‘we can’t change too much all at once’
* ”change is not necessarily good’
* ”we must keep trying to win this war until…’
* ”we’re not going to lose this war because a few hippy liberals don’t approve of it!’
* ”we aren’t ready to lose this war just yet!’
* ”we’ve got to make the markets work’
* ”we’ve got to keep our investments afloat’
* ”we’ve got to keep the markets working for investors’
* ”we’ve got to stick with what we’ve done in the past, and see if we can make it work again’
And so on. I think we, as a country, pretend to be anti-intellectual when it suits us. Maybe it’s more than pretending, but I don’t think we hate intelligence as much as it sometimes seems. But we do love a certain cowboy attitude, and Obama has none of that.
Hilly was playing to that in PA, and that is one of the reasons she won. Obama isn’t a liar, and that’s why some of us like him - he wasn’t willing to ‘cowboy up’ for show - and that made some of us think of him as being a little more honest, and a little truer to himself. But it turns a lot of people off. That’s why politics is such a racket.
April 24th, 2008 at 8:44 pm
Hillary and the news media that are allowing her to propagate this delusional notion need to stop and come back to reality!!!
As for Michigan: last time I checked it is not a democratic process when only one of the major candidates appears on a ballot; something like that only occurs in communistic systems or dictatorships. The amazing thing is that she only got 54% of the vote in a state when she was the only serious candidate on the ballot.
As for Florida: both Hillary and Obama pledged to not run a campaign in Florida, and anyone who has taken any political science course knows that the most important thing in politics in name identification. Without a real campaign in which Obama would have been able to get out his message and increase his own name identification, of course the Clinton name would win the most votes. Does anyone who knows anything about politics really think that her margin of victory would have been so large if there would have been an earnest and vigorous campaign in Florida?
The news media should be ashamed of themselves for allowing her to claim “victories” in these two states and count those “votes” in order to claim that she has the lead in the overall popular vote. Memo to the new media: please stop the nonsense and call her out for her outrageous and undemocratic claims and point out that there is no valid and fair way that she can win the nomination. STOP THE MADNESS PLEASE!!!

hillary the child advocate - not at all!! Why is this story not being thrown in her face - she represented a child rapist - the victims remebers hillary in courtroom - read for yourself http://sweetness-light.com/archive/hillary-versus-the-allegedly-raped-child
April 25th, 2008 at 4:10 am
This so too funny. I used to watch bugs bunny for a good laugh but now I just turn to politics.
Every day I get a good chuckle over how this crazy woman is making a mockery of the political process.
She is thinking about the welfare of Americans no more than any of us are thinking about how long it takes to fly to the moon (which might not be a bad location if she ever gets elected).
What’s more shameful is the pack of morons that keep following her. These are the type of people that, according to the biblical standard, shout ‘Hosanna’ one day and then, ‘Crucify Him’ the next.
They’ll be on board to see Hillary win and if she gets in office she’ll do her own crooked thing. Then the blinders will come off the eyes and people will be protesting her very existence.
These gullable, naive fools need to wake up today instead of making the mistake of putting this power-hungry lunatic in office.
I can’t imagine this country getting any worse. Our dollar is worth CRAP! Our kids are the dumbest on the planet. They only care about sex, drugs and hollywood. Or at least that’s all they’re fed by our corrupt media. And the way the economy is going, it’s sad when people look forward to a life-long career at Starbucks.
She serves herself and the reason why so many Pennsylvanians won’t see that is because a lot of them are hard-core racists. It doesn’t matter how horrible a candidate is just as long as they are white. If that’s how they want to live their lives then they will deserve whatever they get.
I know that because I am originally from PA. I like the state alot but there are a lot of racists in my home state. It’s not quite Arkansas but it’s up there. And that’s what Hillary was relying on.
I believe her FRAUD TRIAL starts today. Let’s see how much the media covers it.
April 25th, 2008 at 10:26 am
When will this lady EVER stop TWISTING THE FACTS (translation: ignoring the truth, deceiving, lying)?
WAKE UP, CLINTONIANS!!!!
April 25th, 2008 at 10:57 am
I get tired of all the hater’s out there, people on both sides of the racial divide, who just refuse—refuse, to give Barrack Obama his due. To say Obama is only where he is at is because he is black is similar to saying the only reason why Hillary is where she is at is because she is a woman and she is white…Come to think of it, the ONLY reason she is where she is aty is because she is a white woman.
Now, I am not—NOT—saying there is something negative to being white or a woman. I am saying that people are voting for her because of her race and gender—not because they believe in their heart of hearts that she will and could contribute anything substantial to our country—or the world. some people in PA voted for HRC because they were protesting the BITTER remarks of Barack. How about what HRC said when she minimized mother’s who work at being good mothers by not going into the work force, or her blatant lies about her heroics in Kosovo? Hillary does well with the less educated.
People who are either too naive to realize that their candidate of choices suffers from delusion of grandeur, and that the candidate that they are backing would like to make history—not by becoming the first female president, but by allowing a president to occupy the white house three(despite the fact slick willy bought much shame to our government—and, Hillary, perhaps)
April 25th, 2008 at 11:09 am
Received a note with some interesting points - “Obama should authorize a re-campaign in Fla, but he won’t”, and then the idea that “only the big states count.”
Anybody know if that’s true - that O’barry could or was able to but didn’t, re-do the Fla. non-primary?
As to the big states…well, geography does tend to make life unfair. And the dems like nothing more than to be … “fair”.. to the honest, down-to-earth multi-millionaires who run the party and run for election, year after year after year…
Saw a funny-horrible article on the Clinton’s regular sweep through the massive wallets of the NY and LA major Dem donors… It all seems to be such an empty-headed, vacant-souled, thick-walleted race, so much of the time.
I’d probably vote McCain, just to keep out Mrs. C, by the way.
April 25th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
Now all of you just wait a minute.
Dawn I am from Michigan, and I find your statement most inmature. First off did you ever wonder why Obama took his name of Michigans ballot? Then two weeks before the election he was asked if he wanted to be a write in and he said no. Then he asked people to vote for undecided. I wonder why. Next Michigan had three supporters willing to pay for another election Obama again said no. Did you ever wonder why he fought against Michigan so much? becouse the people then and the people now are still for Hillary. The last time I looked I was still living in America, a democracy, where every vote is to count. I don’t think it is right for the Demorcat party to tell people when to vote. And I don’t think its right that people lose thier vote over something they have no control over. I beleive in fighting for the rights of all people and when I vote it is not a party or race vote. but for the good of our country. Shame on anyone that does it any different
Now for who is the one that lies the most. Hillary told one lie.True it was not called for. But lets look at Obama. He lied when he copied all Hillarys programs now it beginng to show because he dosn’t know the solutions. He lied about his church. and yes that is importent. It tells about character
and how this person will see the problems of the nation. He has surrounded himself through his life with anti-americans. When he gets caught up in something he plays the race card. and what about his wife ,she said they could hardly afford dance lessons for thier daughters and they just now was able to pay thier student loans off.Now this is coming from someone that made over 4 millon last year. Im not against anyone succeding in life but don’t pretend to be what you’re not. They have both have shown signs of lack of patriotism for America. They have run just as dirty a campagin as Hillary (thats politics) only difference he claims he didn’t know anything about it. I would think that if you took voting serious you would atake time to know your candidate. Me I’m voting for McCain.
April 25th, 2008 at 7:17 pm
Hi Ellie,
I don’t think I can fight for anybody’s campaign tactics. I think Hillypants lies habitually. I’m not as bothered by some of the Barry O. character stuff as you seem to be, but then again, I don’t see the presidency as a kingship - it’s a cabinet, and each of them will be surrounded by a group of thinkers (and stinkers), and then foiled or supported by the Congress.
I wouldn’t be sorry to see John McCain get it. But we’ll see what the next… gulp… few months hold in store.
I mean, what’s gonna happen when Barry and Hilly stop slugging at each other…and start throwing stones at little big John?
